Survey Says

I once attended a presentation entitled “How to Get on Family Feud, and Win!” I don’t remember much, but here are three tips that can help you if you choose to play “The Feud”:

  1. DO be overly enthusiastic

  2. DON’T wear matching shirts

  3. The answer to every coming-of-age question is “12 years old.”

You may never find yourself on Family Feud, but perhaps these tips will serve you well in life.

But what will serve P.S. 110  well is if you take the school survey. (What a smooth segue.)

It may seem daunting, but the survey consists of 44 questions with single-select answers you can breeze through in 5-10 minutes, even on your phone.

All you need is your student’s OSIS number.

“Name something parent’s say when they are told they need their kid’s OSIS Number.”

Survey Instructions for Families:

1. If your child is in grades K–12, you will need your child’s nine-digit student identification number, or OSIS, to begin filling out your survey online.

2. You can find the OSIS on your student’s report card, school ID card, or on their NYC Schools Account.

3. Once on the survey page, you must enter “f” and then your child's OSIS to access the survey. The “f” must be lowercase.

4. If your child is in Early Childhood Education, please contact the school or program to receive your survey access code.

Note: Families can also access the survey by logging into their NYC Schools Account.

Most parents can also find the OSIS number on ParentSquare.

On the app:

  1. click the 3 bars on the top left of PS app

  2. Click your child’s name

  3. Click dashboard

  4. Click overview and it will show their student ID if available

On the web:

  1. click your child’s name on top left

  2. And it will show up automatically

Each class that reaches 100% completion of the survey will get an extra recess! Your child will owe you one big time. Just imagine their eternal gratitude immortalized on a mug for you.

Click over now and tell your friends to take it too. But don’t tell them the deadline to take the survey has been extended from today to April 19.

Please take a few minutes and help us achieve 100% participation. Imagine…a Total Eclipse of the Survey. (That’s how you segue!)

-END SCENE-

We hope you enjoyed PTA sponsored Earthquake Friday. Next on our natural sciences schedule is Eclipse Monday. You can show your gratitude by becoming a sustaining monthly donor, or making a one-time donation if able.

The eclipse will cover 90% of the sun at about 3:25pm this Monday, April 8. Busy? You can catch the next eclipse in NYC in…2079! School dismissal will proceed as normal.

There are several spots to get free eclipse glasses including libraries. However, the Greenpoint Library ran out today.

Lester Holt’s Nightly News Kids Edition produced a great segment about the eclipse for young learners.

Save Education

While the amazing donations from our parent community translate into support for our teachers and excellent enrichment programs for our students, a quality public education is a right every child should have and every parent should feel confident in, regardless of economic outlook.

Once again, the mayor and State of New York are looking to slash funds for our school system. Please send a quick letter in support of our school with the Emergency Coalition to Save Education Programs (right after you take the survey, of course).

Thank you and enjoy the eclipse!
